Biography:
Debra Broz grew up in rural Missouri where she cultivated her love for books and
the natural world. In 1999, she received a full scholarship to Maryville
University in St. Louis. She graduated with a BFA magna cum laude in 2003. In
2005 Debra moved to Austin where she began working as a porcelain restorer. Most
recently her work was selected for "New Art In Austin: 15 to Watch" (Austin
Museum of Art, 2011) and “New American Talent 24” (Arthouse,
summer 2009). Debra works as acting director of
Pump Project Art Complex
gallery and studios and as editor for visual art magazine, Cantanker.
She also owns
Science of Art Restoration
and restores porcelain and pottery.
